MED NET Project Tutti i Paesi della sponda Nord e Sud del Mediterraneo stanno attraversando cambiamenti sociali e politici drastici che sottolineano la mancanza di partecipazione dei giovani e la loro rappresentanza nelle riforme sociali, politiche ed economiche in atto. È giunto il momento di rafforzare il ruolo dei giovani nei processi democratici, per far sentire che la loro voce può essere ascoltata in quanto forza trainante verso il cambiamento. Per promuovere il dialogo tra i giovani è necessario partire dal coinvolgimento della società civile e, in particolare, delle associazioni giovanili, degli enti locali, dei gruppi informali e delle ONG che da sempre rappresentano il settore della popolazione più aperto al cambiamento e in grado di stimolare il rinnovamento di un’intera società.

Rafforzare il ruolo dei giovani nei processi democratici e promuovere il dialogo tra i giovani, creare una rete permanente di associazioni giovanili del Mediterraneo: questi gli obiettivi del progetto “MedNet -Una rete per l’inclusione dei giovani nel Mediterraneo”.MedNet culminerà in un meeting di due giorni, inserito nel calendario del Semestre di Presidenza Italiana del Consiglio dell’Unione Europea, che si terrà il 23 e 24 settembre prossimi presso la Tenuta del Parco di San Rossore. Al meeting parteciperanno circa 120 ragazze e ragazzi, membri di associazioni giovanili, provenienti da: Grecia, Portogallo, Francia, Spagna, Marocco, Tunisia, Israele, Libano, Egitto, Palestina e Italia.

Sessioni in plenaria con interventi di relatori rappresentanti di istituzioni partner, società civile e organizzazioni internazionali, si alterneranno a due sessioni seminariali di approfondimento tematico che vedranno i ragazzi impegnati a lavorare divisi in quattro gruppi.

I gruppi, animati da facilitatori scelti tra docenti universitari, giornalisti, ricercatori e rappresentanti delle istituzioni e della società civile, saranno chiamati a lavorare sui diversi temiquali lepolitiche di studio e lavorative, il ruolo dei giovani nelle Istituzioni, la mobilità dei giovani, gli scambi e le opportunità di studio e lavoro, pari opportunità per tutti e uguaglianza di genere. Al termine dei workshop saranno prodotti 4 dossier tematici di approfondimento per ognuno dei temi e alla fine della due giorni, verrà presentato un documento di sintesi dei lavori.

Essenziale inoltre nella prima fase del progetto l’animazione ed inserimento di contenuti nella Piattaforma Online (http://edu.oxfam.it/) in collaborazione con Oxfam e dei social networks con l’obiettivo di garantire diffusione al progetto e il massimo impatto sui beneficiari. La piattaforma onlineinfattirappresenta un importante veicolo sia per la diffusione dei risultati raggiunti che per la promozione dell’impegno di tutti i partecipanti nell’intera regione del Mediterraneo essendo uno spazio di scambio e confronto permanente tra giovani amministratori, ONG e associazioni giovanili della regione Euro- Mediterranea allo scopo di pervenire a soluzioni condivise per le sfide comuni di questa regione.

MED NET – Innovation, dialogue and networking for a new young leading class in the Mediterranean area” supports the event “Networking for the Inclusion of Young People of the Mediterranean Basin” promoted by the Region of Tuscany that will be carried out on the 23rd and 24th of September 2014 in San Rossore (PISA) aiming at promoting the creation of an exchange space and a permanent confrontation among youngsters from the whole Mediterranean area. Around 100 youngsters aged 18-35, coming from the Southern and Northern Mediterranean area and belonging to several youth associations will be asked to be active builders of their own knowledge through 4 thematic working groups.

During these working groups, animated by different facilitators and coordinators, the 4 thematic dossiers drafted inside MEDNET will give young people some important input to reflect on the 4 topics developed by the project:

1. Policies of study, training and job placement for young people in Europe, with particular reference to significant experience in Mediterranean area; 2. Role of youth in institutions both as directors, both in terms of participation as civil society: what experiences and what tools; 3. Youth mobility, exchanges and opportunities for study, training and work; 4. Equal Opportunities for all and Gender Equality

These Dossiers will ask open key questions that can stimulate, also through the mediation of the thematic experts, a critical analysis of the state of the art and lead to the brainstorming/creation of new innovative and experimental paths to follow in the next future. This will give the chance to the youth associations to create the basis to build up a network that will go on deepening these topics and working on new shared projects among the whole Mediterranean area.

Each partner from the Northern and Southern Mediterranean area will draft the Good Practice document This new concept of Dossier has been drafted after the decision of the Region of Tuscany to also include 6 countries from the Northern Mediterranean area inside the Dossiers. Since the countries that are objective of this study are many and different from each other, we propose to simplify the analysis of the data we will collect by diving the Dossier into 3 macro regions: Northern Mediterranean, Southern Mediterranean and Middle East.

The Dossier will contain:

⁃ A general introduction on the topic of the Dossier: ⁃ A description of the quantitative data (according to the 3 macro-areas) taken from official sources like UNDP, UNESCO, World Bank, European Commission, concerning:  Education rate and access to university  Access of women to the higher education level (high school and university)  Migration of young people for study purposes  Women participation in politic life and women presence at the administrative and entrepreneurial top positions.  Data about disability and integration of disable people in the study and work fields  Possible other data to be defined according to the experts needs.

⁃ Conclusion with open questions and refletcions that will be the basis from which to develop the activities of the working groups.
